What is Meal Packing?

Meals of Hope meal packing events are designed to bring entire communities together around the shared purpose of fighting hunger. Meals of Hope events are sponsored by school groups, religious organizations, corporations, and any other group looking to increase their local profile while providing an important service to the community.

The sponsor organization provides the space, the volunteers that do the packing, and pay for the ingredients. Meals of Hope provides everything else. We supply the ingredients, the equipment, and the event planning, to ensure that your event goes off without a hitch!

You Choose Where
the Food Goes

At Meals of Hope, it is essential that the food packed at our events goes where it is intended to go. This means that the food packed within a community will stay within that community unless instructed otherwise. Meals of Hope prides itself on being able to keep food local within communities in the United States. Although we are strongly focused on keeping it local, Meals of Hope has also partnered with organizations to help areas outside the United States including: Ukraine, Haiti, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Malawi and the Bahamas, and beyond!

You Choose the Meals You Pack

Meals of Hope food packages* were designed to address the need for an economical, nutritious solution to aid in the fight against hunger. Each bag contains enough food to provide six to eight meals. In only two hours each person will generally pack around 60 bags. That’s roughly 350 meals for our hungry working families, children, seniors and veterans.

Why Should I Host a
Meal Packing Event?

According to the USDA, there are 34 million people in the United States who are food insecure. Of these 34 million people, over nine million are children. From Coast to Coast and everywhere in between, the need is overwhelming.

Hosting a meal packing event is an opportunity to come together with your friends, family, colleagues, congregation, neighbors and beyond, to do something positive for the people who need it most. The events are fun, dynamic and full of energy, and in the span of a few hours, your event could be sending off over 1 MILLION MEALS to the people most in need in your community.
